Something grim before I draw a more festive piece for the holidays… hopefully. :)
honestly i know we joke and obviously amy dunne’s story is like. a dramaticized version of what happens to women in order to illustrate it on a more palpable level because it’s so out of the realm of normality so people don’t think it actually happens etc etc…. but if i can’t ditch the nuance for a sec and just chill out and have a conversation with someone about how and why amy dunne was right then WHAT is the point. like we can dissect the actual themes and overall message of gone girl but at the end of the day it’s way more refreshing to just sit down w a gal pal and be like…. if i ever ask a man what he’s doing with a $1200 laptop and he says “laptopping” i should be able to kill him without any real repercussions. that’s how the world should work
This is the only story about a haunted sword where the haunted sword is the least interesting part of the story.
lay out intentions like paving of ease in future moments. “i’m gonna have fun in class tomorrow”, “when i go for a walk i’m gonna see so many beautiful things”, “i’m gonna have the most cozy night tonight”, “i’m gonna be very present with my friend on wednesday”, etc. see how easily the moment adapts. it’s like a little spell to set yourself up for goodness
